Our Grown-up & Me class is a great introduction to school. Moms, Dads, grandparents, or caregivers have a unique opportunity to watch their child begin to grow through school related experiences. This class is designed to help children develop a positive attitude toward the school environment and to encourage independence from Mom (and other caregivers). During class kids & grown-ups will participate in center time, circle time, art, snack and recess.

Our Sprouts class is a warm and welcoming first “drop-off” experience for children who are ready to take their first steps into independent learning. We create a nurturing, play-based environment where little ones build foundational readiness skills—listening, following directions, communicating their needs, and engaging in early social interactions. Each day is full of meaningful play experiences that spark curiosity and encourage emerging friendships.
Our daily schedule includes morning table activities, circle time, hands-on center exploration, snack, outdoor recess, and a weekly music & movement enrichment class. It’s a full and joyful morning designed to help children gain confidence, develop early learning habits, and discover the fun of school!

Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 9:30-12:30
Our Willows class is a play-based, theme-rich program that uses hands-on activities to introduce early academic concepts. This year serves as an important bridge between early preschool experiences and the more structured learning of Pre-K. Through purposeful play and engaging classroom routines, children strengthen foundational readiness skills—listening, following multi-step directions, participating in group activities, and expressing their ideas using growing language abilities. We introduce early reading skills, letter recognition and letter writing, and phonemic awareness. Children practice these skills through multisensory activities such as tracing, songs, fine-motor tasks, storytelling, and interactive read-aloud stories. Math is incorporated into games, activities, circle time, and projects, so children build a concrete understanding of mathematical concepts in ways that feel fun and accessible. Together, these experiences support the whole child and lay a strong foundation for Pre-K, helping children grow in confidence, independence, and enthusiasm for learning.

Our Pre-K classes focus on preparing kids for kindergarten. These classes give the kids the opportunity to play and learn through dramatic play, blocks, art exploration, fine motor skills activities, puzzles, manipulative and gross motor opportunities. Children are expected to sit for gradually longer periods of group time, listen and follow multi-step instructions. Skills such as counting, letter recognition, pre-reading and writing are taught through games and activities as well as introduced more formally at circle time and in small groups. Learning without tears and Zoophonics are used in both classrooms to teach letter recognition as well as phonics.

Our Cedars class builds on the same strong foundation as our 4-Morning program and follows the same curriculum for handwriting and phonics. Children learn through purposeful play, including dramatic play, blocks, art exploration, fine motor activities, puzzles, manipulatives, and gross motor experiences. As the school year progresses, children are encouraged to sit for gradually longer periods of group time, listen attentively, and follow multi-step directions. Foundational academic skills such as counting, letter recognition, pre-reading, and writing are introduced through engaging games, hands-on activities, circle time, and small-group instruction.
The additional fifth morning focuses on STEM exploration, and teamwork/group-based activities. The extra day provides children with more time to build confidence, strengthen social skills, and reinforce the academic foundations that prepare them for a successful transition to kindergarten.

The Willows and Pre-K classes enjoy a weekly social-emotional learning lesson with Ms. Julia using the “feelings spots.” Through the A Little Spot of curriculum, children learn to identify their feelings, manage big emotions, build a positive self-image, and practice skills like empathy, compassion, and kindness. These lessons help children grow in self-awareness, self-control, and decision-making—important skills for success in kindergarten and beyond.

Each class has a once-a-week music class with our Music & Movement teacher Ms. Jamie. Through singing, dancing, rhythm games, and interactive activities, the students develop their creativity and coordination. Most importantly, they have fun and learn to love music! Ms. Jamie's vibrant teaching style and passion for music has the kids clapping, stomping, and smiling as they explore the wonderful world of rhythm and sound. Some examples of weekly lessons include drums, rhythm sticks, dancing with scarves, obstacle courses, singing and dancing with the parachute, and learning seasonal songs.
In December Ms. Jamie leads the all-school Christmas Nativity concert.

Once a month, our Willows and Pre-K classes gather in the church Sanctuary for a special chapel lesson led by Mr. Doug, our Youth and Families Minister. Through engaging Bible stories, joyful songs, and simple prayers, children are introduced to faith in a warm, age-appropriate, and welcoming environment. Chapel time is a meaningful part of our program, nurturing spiritual growth while creating a joyful sense of community.

Our classes get a weekly visit to the preschool library to check out books to enjoy reading at home, and delight in a special library story time.
